The state is able to do so, because the US press is generally silent on such human rights abuses.Bethlehem – Ma’an – A foreign peace activist was injured on Friday and a Palestinian citizen was detained by Israeli forces during a protest against the separation wall, currently under construction on lands belonging to the village of Al-Ma’sara, south of Bethlehem.
Some 80 people including local residents and foreign solidarity and peace activists held a demonstration after open-air Friday prayers near the separation wall. The protestors carried Palestinian flags and banners protesting against the separation wall.
Israeli troops tried to distract the worshippers, shouting at them through loudspeakers. They then fired on the demonstrators, injuring a foreign activist, before seizing local resident, Hasan Zawahra.
